Rhythm Hakuba has an extensive range of the latest gear for all your snowsports needs. Their knowledgeable team can assist you in hiring, purchasing or tuning your equipment. If you're after a new pair of boots, custom boot fitting is a specialty. They also offer a pickup and drop-off service from Echoland Apartments.
Spicy Rentals is located 100 metres from our apartments and has a good selection of rental ski gear.
The Hakuba Connect magazine and website is the definitive guide to Hakuba.
The Hakuba Essential Guide is published by Hakuba Tourism and contains great information on the restaurants, bars and shops around town.
A JR East Pass for the Nagano Niigata area is a flexible 5 day pass gives you 5 days of travel within 14 days of issue on JR East lines only. It costs 18,000 yen for the pass which includes travel on the NEX (Narita Express) and the Shinkansen to Nagano. You don’t need to pre purchase this pass in Australia.
Alternatively, if you would like to travel extensively around Japan on all Japan Rail (JR) lines, you should look to purchase an "exchange order" for a Japan Rail Pass before you leave for Japan.

The Hyperdia website is great to help you plan your train travel in Japan. It allows you to search for train routes, timetables and fares.
The Chuo Taxi will take you directly from Narita Airport to Echoland Apartments for 12,400 yen per person. The share taxi service departs at various times throughout the day. They also offer a private charter service for up to 14 people.
The Nagano Snow Shutttle will take you directly from Narita Airport to Echoland for 9,900 yen per person. The bus departs from Narita at 8 or 9 pm most evenings during the winter season. They also offer a charter service for smaller groups.

The Takkyubin service is an easy and efficient way to get your bags to and from the airport. The cost is very reasonable at 1690 yen per bag with delivery the following day for bags checked by 1130 am. Bags from Hakuba to the airport need to be checked 48 hours before your flght and cost 1990 yen per bag.
